The Leadership & Literacy Camp Program was created by actor, Nate Parker, Sankofa Community Empowerment Inc., Breaking The Cycle Consulting Group, and the Medgar Evers College. The goal of the program is to cultivate leadership amongst inner city youth and college students through educational programs and presentations that utilize a curriculum that was created around themes from the film "The Great Debaters." The program will focus on increasing literacy amongst youth through a proactive campaign that provides awareness and excitement surrounding reading and research while empowering participants to engage in critical issues that impact their community through structured debates.
